July 11, 12, 13, 2008
The final leg of the Longest Walk 2 will be concluded with the presentation of the Manifesto & documentation of the Sacred Site and Environmental Protection concerns from across the nation.
This historic event will be followed by a Ceremony, Native American Drumming and Singing, and Traditional Welcoming. Harry Belafonte will speak at the opening of the event.
This American Indian Spiritual Walk for Survival will also be celebrated by free Concerts and Pow Wows on July 12th – from 12 am to 8 pm and July 13th, 2008 – from 10 am to 6 pm, on The National Mall in front of the Native American Museum. Throughout the weekend several guest speakers will address the issue of Global Warming and the protection for sacred sites including the American Diabetes Foundation and the Feed the Children Organization.
